Visit Us

Visit us at our historic London headquarters in Burlington House, home to our stunning Library and the famous William Smith map

The Geological Society is located at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London W1J 0BG.

Opening hours: Tuesday-Thursday, 9.30am-5pm (Library open 10am-5pm)

Fellows and Student Members may visit to consult the Library's collections, or to use the Libraries as a place to work. Please note that work-space is available on a first-come-first-served basis, and may be limited when conferences are taking place.

Members of the public are welcome to visit during normal opening hours to view our entrance hall, including the William Smith map, as well as temporary exhibits in the Library.

Visit the Library

Open Tuesday to Thursday, members can visit the Library, browse the collections, use the study spaces and visit The Map Room. Members of the public can do so upon appointment and for a fee
