Do you offer Work Experience?

We do not currently have capacity to provide work experience for any age of student. However, we do post any work experience opportunities we see on our Geoscience Education and Outreach Network (GEON). Find out how to join, here

Rocks - identifying and donating

Rock identification

We regret that we are not able to help with rock identification queries. However, there is a dedicated channel for this on GEON called ‘What Is This Rock’, where you can ask members of GEON for their help.

Alternatively, You can also contact the British Geological Survey for support or asking the Natural History Museum's Identification and Advisory Service at https://www.nhm.ac.uk/take-part/identify-nature.html

Rock donations

We are grateful to be considered when people wish to donate rocks to our teaching collection. However, as we have limited storage, we are usually unable to accept these. We are always on the hunt for specific types of minerals and rocks that are harder to come by, so please feel free to contact us to find out if your collection meets these needs. We apologise in advance if we cannot accept your donation into our collection.
