Aims of the Scheme

We are delighted to announce our intention to launch the University Champions Scheme for the upcoming academic year. The purpose of the scheme is to improve relationships with geoscience students, staff and faculty at GSL accredited universities in the UK. 

Who can become a University Champion and how can you help?

University Champions will be Fellows of the Society, typically a member of staff within an academic department. They will act as a point of contact for the Society, engaging with students to inform them of events and opportunities available to them via the Society as well as other membership benefits that can support their professional development.

We are looking to identify a representative at each department to work with on this to help achieve our goal of a more connected, informed, and vibrant Geoscience community.

How to apply to become a University Champion

To express your interest to join please email diversity@geolsoc.org.uk

You will be asked to demonstrate what unique skills and/or experience you would bring to the scheme. This can be conveyed with a brief personal statement which should not be any longer than 300 words.
