Natural Sciences (Joint Honours) degrees
For awards in the Natural Sciences degree scheme, students read two subjects. For the degree to be accredited, an accredited pathway must be taken, which ensures that Earth Sciences is the major subject. The minor subject (designated as subject ‘B’ below) is listed second in the degree title in the case of ‘with’ degrees, but is listed alphabetically in the case of ‘and’ degrees.
For students graduating from July 1998 to July 2004:
- BSc (Hons) in Earth Sciences and/with B within the Natural Sciences programme (Accredited Pathway) (where B = Applied Physics, Archaeology, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics or Physics)
For students graduating from July 2005 to July 2010:
- BSc (Hons) in Earth Sciences and B within the Natural Sciences programme (Accredited Pathway) (where B = Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics, Philosophy or Physics) and
- BSc (Hons) in Earth Sciences with B within the Natural Sciences programme (Accredited Pathway) (where B = Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics, Philosophy or Physics)
For students graduating from July 2010 to July 2018:
- BSc (Hons) in Earth Sciences and B within the Natural Sciences programme (Accredited Pathway) (where B = Archaeology, Biology, Chemistry, Geography or Mathematics)
For students graduating from July 2019 onwards:
- BSc (Hons) in Earth Sciences and B within the Natural Sciences programme (Accredited Pathway) (where B = Biology, Chemistry or Geography)
For students graduating from July 2011 onwards:
- MSci Natural Sciences (Accredited Pathway)
(For the MSci Natural Sciences degree to be accredited, students should have completed the appropriate programmes as specified above for the BSc NS degrees, and taken the requisite 4th year Earth Science modules.)
