Manage your membership

To log in to the upgraded MyGSL for the first time, you will need to set up a new password. To do this, simply follow these steps:

Once you are logged in to MyGSL, you can update your details in the 'My Details' section which is located on the left hand side panel of the webpage.

In this area you can also manage your newsletter preferences by choosing which news you would like to receive from us.

You are now able to log your CPD online on the updated MyGSL. Whilst this experience is being improved, we have put together a template logbook (see below) which you can download and use to track your CPD.

You can find guidance about CPD, CPD logging, your CPD diary and more in the left hand column of MyGSL titled 'MyCPD".

If you need to obtain previous existing records (e.g. to include with a Chartership application) please email chartership@geolsoc.org.uk 

CPD is essential for achieving and maintaining Chartership status. It is recommended that you record at least 90 hours of CPD for each year if you are in full-time employment. A minimum of 30 hours must be from on-the-job-learning.

Remember, Geological Society Training Courses can be logged as CPD (Continuing Professional Development) towards achieving and maintaining Chartership. View all upcoming Training Courses on the webpage. Members can access preferential rates of up to 50% off.

You can renew your membership online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via MyGSL.
