Marine Studies Group

The Marine Studies Group represents the marine geoscience community within the Geological Society, which includes marine geologists, sedimentologists, paleoceanographers, and marine geophysicists

Aims

The Marine Studies Group:

  • provides a hub within the Geological Society for marine-focused Earth scientists and promotes the exchange of ideas between marine geoscience communities in academia and industry;
  • aims to support such interaction between scientific communities by arranging scientific meetings and workshops (sometimes held jointly with other science and technology groups) to promote the in-depth study of topical aspects of the science; and
  • supports public understanding of marine geoscience and diversity in marine geoscience by organising online webinars and meetings with a focus on participation by young people and people from marginalised communities.

If you would like to jointly organise a meeting, workshop or webinar related to marine geoscience, please get in touch.
