Do you know someone who deserves recognition for their contributions to geoscience? Our annual awards highlight excellence in research, professional practice and education. Whether they have made ground-breaking discoveries, advanced applied geoscience or championed diversity and inclusion, we want to hear about them.
You can nominate at any time with each annual cycle closing 15 October.

- Wollaston Medal: significant influence via a substantial body of excellent research
- Lyell Medal: significant contributions to soft rock studies
- Murchison Medal: significant contributions to hard rock studies
- William Smith Medal: excellence in applied and economic geoscience
- Dewey Medal: significant contributions through fieldwork
- Prestwich Medal: the advancement of the science of geology
- Sue Tyler Friedman Medal: recording of the history of geology

- Coke Medal: significant service to geology
- R H Worth Award: outreach, public engagement and/or education
- Distinguished Service Award: significant contribution to the geoscience community

- Wollaston Fund: excellent contributions to geoscience research and/or its application in either or both 'pure' and 'applied' aspects of the science
- Lyell Fund: excellent contributions to geoscience research and/or its applicationin soft rock studies
- Murchison Fund: excellent contributions to geoscience research and/or its application in hard rock studies
- William Smith Fund: excellence in contributions to applied and economic aspects of geoscience
- President’s Award: significant early career promise and future leader potential
